Reinhold Messner, considered the greatest climber/mountaineer ever. The first to solo Everest without oxygen, the first climber to ascend all fourteen "eight-thousanders" (peaks over 8,000 metres (26,000 ft) above sea level) and author of many books about his climbing experiences.
